Cross: (delenatii x malipoense)
Intro: Paph. Lynleigh Koopowitz is a hybrid between delenatii and malipoense. It produces large flowers up to 5" across with a light pink coloring and a overlay of dark purple spots on the petals. Its fragrance is reminiscent of raspberries and cream.
Light: This plant is a low to medium light grower and prefers light of 750-1000 footcandles to do best.
Temperature: This plant will tolerate a range of temperatures from 60 -63 degrees at night for a winter night temperature up into the 70-80's for a daytime temperature.
Humidity: 40-70% is ideal.
Water: This plant when in active growth and flowering requires a good amount of water, allowing the plant to just approach dryness. When the plant is not in the flowering stage, allow it to dry out slightly more in between waterings. Water with rain, reverse osmosis, or distilled water for best results, though municipal water can be used if not too alkaline (8.0 or above).
Fertilizer: If you use rain, distilled, or reverse osmosis water, we recommend adding calcium and magnesium in a fertilizer such as
CalMag 15-5-15. With municipal water or water with higher pH, use GrowMore 20-10-20 Ureafree. Either one should be
used at the rate of one teaspoon per gallon of water.
We also highly recommend
Green Jungle Orchid Food, especially formulated to work with rain, distilled, reverse osmosis water or water low in alkalinity. Fertilize with Green Jungle every time you water.
Flowering: This plant flowers most heavily in the spring and summer months but can flower twice a year. The flowers are very long lasting, up to 3 months or more, and are fragrant. Usually this plant developes two flowers on strong, upright, 18-24" stems.
Repotting: Early fall, after blooming is best. Use a well drained coarse bark mix.
