Description
An incredible rare species from Madagascar with large flowers for the size of the plant
Reading about how this plant grows in nature one would assume that it is difficult to grow. What we have found is that it grows really well in New Zealand sphagnum moss. The roots have a lot of hairs which is a signal that this plant loves moisture. We allow the moss to approach dryness between watering. They seem to grow in a wide range of temperatures with ease. They typically flower in winter to early spring. The 4" flowers are very interesting with a bronze like color in the sepals and petals. The flowers are long lasting and fragrant at night. The whole plant has a leaf span of about 6 inches when a mature specimen.
Seedlings as of 2024 - they are probably 2 to 3 years from flowering .
