A rare Bulbophyllum species is native to the Malaysian peninsula, the Moluccas, Sumatra, Borneo, Java and New Guinea. This plant produces an amazing umbel of flowers that smell like dead fish! It is quite popular amongst collectors and grows well in bulb pans in fine bark, moss or coco-peat mixed with small bark and perlite. If you have good humidity and water often, then basket culture will work as well. This plant thrives in heat and will perform best with daytime highs of the upper 70's to upper 80's. Current seedlings should reach blooming size by 2023. Flower photo is from our mature collection plant.
