This great Encyclia hybrid is made up of a hybrid called Atroniceum which is a cross between (cordigera x phonecia). This was then back crossed on to the cordigera var. rosea. This particular offering is a sib cross of two select Nursery Rhymes. The flowers are very cordigera-like, with deep magenta purple lips and dark chocolate brown sepals and petals, but on free blooming growths that can have taller spikes and can branch on older plants. There is a chocolate fragrance and the flowers do last about 6 weeks or so. The plants have beautiful round glossy pseudobulbs.
