This cool-growing epiphytic Encyclia species is native to Mexico, Nicaragua and Honduras. It is a high elevation cloud forest orchid, and in the wild is found at 1400 to 2600 meters. This plant prefers cool to intermediate conditions with good humidity, but some have said it can handle periods of warm temperatures as well. It stays compact, and has a wonderufl and vibrant color!
