*When listed in spike, we like to list them with low spikes below 10" to save you money on shipping. They will reach 36 inches or higher on most flower spikes before opening.

This is the large, round, and white color form of L. anceps, known as var. dawsonii. A very popular Laelia due to its hardiness and wide range of temperature tolerance. Laelia anceps comes from Mexico (also known as 'El Toro' in Mexico) and Honduras, and is a Southern California favorite as it can be grown outdoors year-round in SoCal, and several areas in FL. It can tolerate near-freezing temperatures for short amounts of time, up to 100 degrees. These are also great slab growers if you want to use a large slab or mount them on a tree.

Both ‘John Tucker' and ‘Zenith are the dawsonii form and came from 'Sanbar Marble King' x self.

Our current batch was bred by the late James Rose of Cal Orchid, and their L. anceps are always a treat! They are in 6" bulb pan pots and have just reached blooming size. All of these plants, whether listed in spike or not, are set to flower in the fall to winter of 2025.
