Description
A popular species from Mexico and Honduras, this orchid is frequently grown outdoors in Southern California. The clone ‘Sierra Orientalis’ is an originally collected plant known for its classic, large flowers, while ‘Walbrun’ is an awarded variety prized for its fuller, rounder petals. We recommend growing this species in coarse bark or sphagnum moss, though it also thrives when mounted on trees, as is commonly done in both Southern California and Southern Florida.
When listed in spike, please remember that these usually flower in the fall, starting from October through Late November.
