Description
This species is native to Brazil where it grows in a wide range of areas across several states. These can be found growing on rocks as lithophytes and epiphytically in trees. This is a very tolerant orchid and will grow in a wide range of temperatures, making it a relatively easy species to grow and flower. This selfing of a fantastic clone we have has nearly solid red to purple petals!
Multi-growth, well-established plants. We expect them to reach blooming size by the summer of 2027, perhaps some in 2026.
When Listed In-Spike: These plants flower in late April or May. We prefer to ship these in-sheath when the buds are in development, as this prevents damage to the buds and flowers in transit.
