Description
A classic Cymbidium that usually blooms in the summer, unlike standard varieties, which typically flower in late winter to early spring. These plants are pleasantly fragrant and named in honor of a past president of the American Orchid Society, who was also a major influence in Cymbidium breeding.
Like all Cymbidiums, they prefer to be somewhat tight in their pots, which encourages flowering. They grow best in small to medium-grade bark, but have also been known to do well in coconut coir or husk with perlite. These orchids are resilient, tolerating outdoor temperatures down close to freezing (as long as roots are not kept too wet) and heat well into the high 90's.
Plants offered have reached blooming size, and we expect to see flowers between the spring and summer of 2026.
