Description
Ryokuunshirofukurin is a popular Chinese goeringii with slight white margins. It is very elegant in presentation and flowers on short stems. Chinese goeringii are more fragrant than Japanese or Korean types. These have grown beautifully for us.
These plants are 'seasonal' growers, meaning they take cool temps, lower light and drier conditions in the winter and warm, bright, moist conditions in the summer (growing season). The goeringii generally flower in February or March and are pleasantly fragrant.
Our current batch of goeringii are growing in kanuma, a type of fired earth often used in bonsai mixes. This, and akadama, are the primary potting substrates used in Japan and we are finding the best growth using this material.
All of our goeringii are grown in the plastic Asian 'Shunran' pots.
