Description
A beautiful species native to Malaysia, Laos, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Philippines, Indonesia, and Papua and New Guinea. In Latin, 'anosumum' means no scent, but on the contrary these are very sweet scented flowers. These put on a show of flowers once per year in late winter to spring months, and flower after the canes have matured and they are given a dry rest (cutting out fertilizer and barely watering the plants in the winer).
This is a cross of a 4N larger flowering pink and the picotee 'A Touch of Class' clone which has pink edging and a white center. The flowers may vary in pattern.
Over many years, the growths can reach several feet long, sometimes 6 feet or more for the standard species but with a 4N as one of the parents we think they will be quite a bit shorter.
These plants are just reaching blooming size. They should be able to produce some flowers in 2020.
