Native to India and Myanmar, this species is naturally found growing in tropical forests among rocks and bushes. A floriferous bloomer, its deciduous nature is obvious by the apparent leaf drop that occurs during or just after flowering. This species enjoys a dry rest during the winter flowering season, followed by regular watering during the following spring to summer season when new growth resumes.

The flower color of this species may vary too, from mostly white to all pink!
