This species has a wide distribution throughout Asia, which includes the Chinese Himalayas, Hainan, China, Assam, India, eastern Himalayas, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam.

During the winter months, water sparingly and avoid fertilizing until new growth emerges in the spring. After blooming, resume fertilizing and regular watering. Prior to flowering in the spring (usually around May for us) be sure the plants are not fertilized and watered less often until you see the flower spikes develop.

Slightly fragrant flowers. When mature and specimen size, these plants can put on a very impressive show of flowers!

These plants currently offered are blooming size, and we expect to see them flower in the spring of 2026. Recently imported, and just rooting now as of the summer of 2025.
