A rare plant in the Commelinaceae family that is native to Costa Rica and Bolivia. This species can be found in the wild growing as either a terrestrial or as an epiphyte if the conditions are humid enough. We grow them in pro-mix and plastic pots. Unlike Bromeliads, these plants do not have any serrated leaf edges and are soft to the touch. They develop an umbel of flowers with a sweet fragrance. An excellent, large-sized house plant!
Note that the shipping charges will be reflecting the size of the plants and their weight, which is about 10+ lbs each plant at this size.
Note 2: We drain the foliage of water and clean them as best as possilbe for transit. There are occasional bush snails we find in the water pockets. We do a good job of treating/removing them, but cannot guarantee 100% these will arrive snail free.
