Arguably perhaps the largest and best of the Vireya species. Native to Borneo and New Guinea these tropical rhododendrons like medium to bright light, intermediate to warm temperatures and need to be watered as they approach dryness in winter. In Summer they really kick out the growth and flowers. Our large specimen plant is around 40 years old and we have had to trim it back several times. Here we offer rooted cuttings of this exceptional plant . The large trumpet shaped three inch flowers are borne at the end of the growing tips and can have several flowers on an inflorescence.
