Translated as 'Black Robe', Suminagashi has handsome, broad leaves with very fine black stripes on the undersides of the lower leaves once fully developed, sometimes developing after the plant is several years old. It has standard white flowers. The foliage is a more light green tone than its striped counterpart 'Surusumi'. The variant will list whether the plants offered have stripes present or not. Bear in mind, ones without the stripes can certainly develop them in short periods of time. Current batch have very faint lines starting.
