Oncidiinae

The Oncidiinae is a Neotropical subtribe encompassing approximately 70 genera and about 1,000 species of orchids, including the genera Oncidium, Brassia, Tolumnia, and Odontoglossum. Oncidiums are found from Florida and the Caribbean into Central and South America. Many popular Oncidiinae species and hybrids are beloved for their large, showy sprays of numerous, brightly-colored flowers, which often appear more than once a year. Care and flowering habits vary greatly across the species in this group, but many of the commonly available hybrids are easy to grow and flower at intermediate temperatures, with medium light levels.
