Description
A pretty, light purple-flowering miniature from Cuba. We offer them bare root, or sometimes in small clay pots.
Cultural Notes:
Tolumnias are often called “equitant Oncidiums” and are adapted to bright, breezy conditions. In nature, they are found growing exposed on twigs and shrubs, where roots dry quickly after rain.
- Light: Bright, filtered light; strong light encourages compact growth and flowering. Water: Water frequently during active growth, allowing roots to dry quickly between waterings. Reduce water in winter when growth slows. - Humidity & Airflow: 50–70% humidity with good air circulation is ideal. - Potting: Best grown mounted, or in small clay pots/baskets with an open, fast-draining medium such as large bark or charcoal. -Avoid keeping roots constantly wet. - Temperature: Warm to intermediate (60–85°F).
