Description
Native to the Caribbean, this species grows on the tips of branches in fairly exposed conditions. This orchid enjoys being grown on slabs or in pots with good air flow. We have grown them in unglazed clay pots with moss, or plastic pots with a bark mix, or just charcoal. These are divisions of originally collected plants from the famous 'Jungle Mary' nursery in Florida from the early 1970s. The 1/2" flowers are borne on spikes with 5 to 10 flowers that last about 2 months and have a sweet fragrance to them.
Note: Bare-root divisions are sold at 1 spike per 2 growth orders.
Baskets are multiple plants with established roots in coco-fiber. We are basing the prices on established, new growth. There will be some older growths mixed in the baskets. See photos for details.
