A primary hybrid between the highly floriferous ruckeri and the near-black tigrina (also known as nigroviolacea). This plant, when crossed with nigroviolacea, is registered as Stanhopea Spark to Flame. This should have similar flowers.
We are offering established seedlings in 2" pots. These grow fairly fast for seedlings, and we expect the first plants to bloom in 2027.
Some consider tigrina and nigroviolacea the same species, while others say that tigrina has smaller bulbs and shorter foliage, and nigroviolacea has longer bulbs and foliage.
Either way, this plant should produce a good flower count, especially when mature, with great fragrance! It should also be cool to warm tolerant with the mix of these Mexican/Central American parents.
