Description
This is going to be a wild cross! A brand-new, exclusive hybrid between two giants of the Stanhopeinae: Coryhopea. We paired Coryanthes bruchmuelleri, the largest of all Coryanthes, with a tetraploid (4N) Stanhopea tigrina. The result should be very large, highly fragrant flowers. Thanks to the 4N Stanhopea parent, the blooms are expected to carry the classic Stanhopea form while still showing about one-third Coryanthes influence.
These seedlings are expected to reach blooming size between 2027–2028.
