This awarded compact and vigorous growing hybrid is free-flowering and often blooms twice per year with 2 to 3-inch flowers that last about 2 months. Unlike many sweet-fragranced Zygopetalum, this hybrid tends to produce a spicy scent to it. The flowers are colorful and bold, and the flower spikes develop at the same time the new growths do, which is the opposite of almost all orchids as typically, the flower spike comes after the new bulbs mature. Note the photos; this plant does tend to have a slightly upward-facing flower.

Grow in medium light and keep the potting mix on the moist side, never allowing the mix to totally dry between watering. Grow in intermediate temperatures.

This batch should begin opening in the last week of April.
