Description
A beautiful species native to the Amazon and Rondônia regions of Brazil. This plant produces arching clusters that can hold 40 or more flowers, colored ivory to yellow with dark chocolate to red markings. First described in 2016, the blooms have a pleasant spicy fragrance.
This species undergoes winter dormancy and naturally drops its leaves just before, during, or shortly after flowering.
Growing Recommendations:
Best grown in high-quality New Zealand sphagnum moss.
Water when the moss is approaching dryness.
After flowering and leaf drop, keep the plant on the dry side—water lightly about every couple of weeks and do not fertilize during dormancy.
Resume regular watering and begin fertilizing every 3rd–4th watering once new roots and growths reappear.
