The amazing two-color Dimorphorchis from Borneo! This plant likes warm temps and bright light to grow its best. From seed, this species has been known to take 10+ years to reach maturity. Here is an opportunity to purchase an established plant that should be able to produce flowers within 2025 to 2027. It is hard to say when they will bloom as some can bloom on a short mature growth, and some wait until they are over 2 feet tall.
The inflorescences produce two types of flowers, the 'basal' at the top, which is yellow and fragrant, and the 'distal' afterward, which is red without fragrance: truly a fascinating flower, and the only genus of orchids known to do this. The spikes can reach over 3 feet long on specimen plants!
Of the options below, plant option C is the largest with a 3-foot wide leaf span. Tested for CymMV & ORSV virus, both negative.
