Description
This species is native to Belize, Honduras and Mexico. This plant grows to about one foot in height and has 2-3 inch pseudo-bulbs, topped by a pair of 8-10 inch leaves. This plant prefers a fast draining potting mix and also does well mounted on cork. Grow in medium light, water as the plant just dries out, except when in flower. The flowers are borne on two-foot tall flower spikes with 8-15 flowers per spike. The flowers are colored in yellow, green, mahogany, white and purple with reddish stripes. The flowers last 2-3 months and have a light, sweet fragrance. This plant also needs a dry rest between December and April. During this period, water when the mix is totally dry.
