Description
Macradenia multiflora is an epiphytic orchid native to Central and South America, especially Brazil and Paraguay. It produces multiple small, burgundy flowers on long, arching spikes. While individual flowers are small, they appear in large numbers, creating an impressive display.
The plant grows from short pseudobulbs with narrow, upright leaves. It prefers intermediate to warm temperatures, bright filtered light, and good air circulation. Macradenia multiflora does well mounted or in baskets where its inflorescences can hang freely.
A good choice for someone interested in a less common, floriferous species.
Current plants are small yet blooming size, growing in 3" pots with sphagnum moss!
