A beautiful species from Ecuador and Peru and named for Frederick Sander the Orchid King who was the premier orchid grower in the world for many years from the Victorian age onward. This species is fairly rare in collections today. The plants we offer have several growths and are mature divisions of a very select one called 'Cabernet Splash'. We imported this plant in the year 2000 along with others and flowered them out selecting this as our best clone. It has larger flowers and is more strongly colored than most clones. These are multiple growth plants that have been well established for over a year. The last two photos are of the actual plants we are selling as of November 2019.
