Description
Native to the Caribbean, this species grows on the tips of branches in fairly exposed conditions. This orchid enjoys being grown on slabs or in pots with good air flow. We have grown them in unglazed clay pots with moss, or plastic pots with a bark mix or just charcoal. These are divisions of originally collected plants from the famous 'Jungle Mary' nursery in Florida from the early 1970s. The 1/2" flowers are borne on spikes with 5 to 10 flowers that last about 2 months and have a sweet fragrance to them.
We recommend humid environments with frequent watering. Or, you can also add a bit of sphagnum moss, green moss, or coconut fiber around the root system for extra moisture.
These are individual listings for huge specimen size Tolumnia variegata slabs!
