Description
A rare vanilla species native to western and southern Madagascar, it grows in seasonally dry, deciduous forests on sandy soils at elevations of about 200 meters, making it a warm- to hot-growing plant. It develops climbing gray-green stems that readily root onto any support. We stake ours with bamboo, which the plant will naturally cling to. This species needs to reach roughly 3 feet in length before it can flower, and we expect these plants to reach blooming size in 2027.
The current batch is about 6 to 8 inches in length. (Limited availability)
