The Complex Paphiopedilum hybrids originated in England, Scotland, and Europe, where several generations were bred from larger, long-lasting species. They are called “complex” due to their extensive parentage—now involving many generations of carefully selected plants bred for size, shape, and substance. Each plant in this batch is seed-grown, so no two will be alike. Each plant is a unique, one-of-a-kind specimen! Easy to grow and reliably blooming every winter, they make an excellent addition to any orchid collection.

These long-lasting flowers typically hold for 2–3 months and measure approximately 4.5"–6" across, with a firm, waxy substance. Keep the root system evenly moist, as these plants are thirsty—especially while in flower.

Green complexes often display touches of yellow, and the dorsal and ventral sepals may show white as well. Many flowers will also develop deeper yellow tones as they mature.
