Description
This is an exciting opportunity to own the rare aureum variety of this excellent species that is native to Thailand! When in bloom, it produces stems up to 18 inches in length with green and white flowers reminiscent of birds. These flowers are 2-3" in size and can be striped or spotted in nature.
In the wild, this terrestrial orchid would be found growing among mossy rocks in the shady cover of trees, deep within the lowland evergreen forests of Southeast Asia. Among the natural populations of this species, some would naturally mutate and lose the typical pink and burgundy coloration of the flowers. The collectors who were lucky enough to spot one of these mutated varieties, made possible the breeding and proliferation of this orchid in nurseries today. While still hard to find, we offer this miniature spectacle whenever possible, to share a piece of nature's own anomalies with you!
