This species is native to India, Bangladesh, Nepal and the northwestern Yunnan province of China, where it can be found growing on limestone outcroppings. This orchid flowers in the late fall and winter, during which it prefers higher humidity around 80%. This variety produces a predominantly yellow flower with white edge accents, with a faint presence of brown spots.
