We crossed two awarded Phalaenopsis hybrids to create this cross. Phal (or Dtps) Fangtastic Dottie Kone 'Lovely' AM/AOS has a very interesting Harlequin type paterning with dark blood red spots along the veins with a dark pink background. We crossed it with our awaded large Pink Phalaenopsis hybrid: Phal. May B 'Paulina' AM/AOS, which probably has one of the largest and best shaped flowers of any Pink hybrids that is currently on the market. Hopefully some of the seedlings will have inherited the Harlequin type patterning of the flowers, but will have improved in size and shape of the flowers compared to Dtps. Fangtastic Dottie Kone. We expect about 25% of the seedlings will have inherited this type of Harlequin patterning; the rest will probably be light to dark pink in color, but will still be of excellent shape and size.
