Description
This Phalaenopsis produces striking deep orange to coral blooms accented by a bold magenta lip. The flowers are exceptionally long-lasting, with spikes that can remain in bloom for 3 to 5 months. Their presentation is outstanding, with perfect spacing and branching from the sides of the stems. As the flowers mature, they shift to a soft pink—a rare and unique color-changing process not commonly seen in Phalaenopsis!
This is part of our spike-initiated series, which is a way to save costs on the plant price and the shipping. These come in the Taiwan soft production pots with a single drain hole on the bottom, which are typically dropped into a sturdy ceramic container for display. You have the choice to up-pot it by adding more moss or bark around the root system (we recommend about a 5.5 to 6-inch pot), or leave it as-is and drop it into an appropriate container.
Spike initiated photo as of October 19th, of which plants are estimated to have developed spikes with buds by late December to early January.
*Note that Taiwan production Phals are grown in tight spaces, with foliage sometimes flopping over. We re-train them with clear tape. If you receive a plant with clear tape, you may remove it after 2 weeks, and the foliage will then stay in place.
