Description
Phalaenopsis venosa is a section Polychilos orchid species native to Sulawesi, Indonesia, known for its small, waxy, yellow-bronze flowers. It grows as an epiphyte in warm, humid forests and prefers low to medium light. These plants are blooming size and are sequential bloomers, meaning buds are produced one after another on the same spike over an extended period, rather than all at once.
Polychilos Phalaenopsis are prized for their waxy foliage, star-shaped blooms, and delightful fragrance. These orchids are reliable re-bloomers, often flowering season after season on the same spikes. The spikes will typically regenerate from their tips before the next bloom cycle.
You don’t need to remove flower spikes unless they begin turning pale or if the plant’s growth slows because the spikes are using too much energy. Mature plants can often support four or more spikes at once, making them a stunning addition to any collection.
