This cross is the deep color form of violacea. We are offering blooming-size plants, and expect all from this batch to flower from summer to fall of 2025.
This fantastic species is native to Sumatra, where it grows epiphytically on trees in shaded, moist areas of lowland tropical forests. It begins blooming in the spring and continues to produce successive flowers through the fall, with 2 to 3 flowers open at any given time per spike. Do not cut the flower spikes as long as they remain green—they go dormant in the winter and will resume blooming the following spring. We only remove them if the plant stops growing, or if they start to turn pale green to yellow.
