Description
This unique species native to Peru and Brazil has large 5-7" flowers with a window like opening in the back of the flower. There is an amazing pineapple, nutmeg and vanilla fragrance as well. The flowers last from 3-5 days and the plant can flower more than once per year. This plant enjoys medium light levels and likes to approach dryness between watering. These prefer New Zealand Sphagnum moss and and need to be fertilized every third or fourth time you water. The pollination of these flowers is done by Euglossine bees. There are some interesting videos on Youtube about these plants and their pollinators.
