Description
Native to Colombia. Grows best in semi-shade, moist conditions in intermediate to warm temperatures.
This species produces long, pendulous and fragrant flowers. Gongora gratulabunda has a range in color from yellow with red spots, to near pure yellow. Unless specified, it is unknown which color you will get. Since the flower spikes emerge at the bulbs and head upwards or sideways first, there is no need to grow these in baskets to produce good flower spikes, but the plants will grow well in solid pots or baskets.
These plants root very easily from divisions, and grow quite fast. This genus prefers growing in baskets filled with New Zealand sphagnum moss, or in pots with tree fern fiber mixed with perlite.
