Our own Exclusive line-bred plants of the supra Lord Rothschilds variety of Vanda coerulea, beginning in 1978!

Native to Northeast India, Burma, Thailand, and Southwest China, this extraordinary orchid is among the closest in color to true blue. This tetraploid (4N) cross has been line-bred by Orchids Limited, producing stunning 4" to 6" blooms (flowers become larger as the plants mature) in rich ultramarine tones that deepen in color after opening and can last 2–3 months. Note that cooler temperatures and brighter light conditions promote the strongest coloration in this species. The colors are stunning and surreal on all the flowers!

These plants grow at 800 to 1700 meters in the wild, making them cool- to warm-tolerant Vandas, unlike many of the larger-flowered Vandas, which do not perform in cool temperatures.

Our 8th generation of crosses, these plants trace back to stock originally imported from Bangkrabue Nursery in Thailand, a renowned collector for the King of Thailand.

We have been carefully cultivating these plants from seed since 2015 and 2020. Limited availabilty.
