Anoectochilus burmannicus

A jewel orchid native to Chinese Himalayas, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos and Malaysia. This species is known more for its beautiful foliage than flowers. As with all jewel orchids, once a growth has flowered it will terminate. However, prior to blooming new growths will emerge to copensate for the loss of the bloomed growth.

This like very shady and humid conditions, and are popular terrarium plants. In a terrarium, low air flow will help prevent rotting foliage. We grow them moist and in sphagnum moss. Be careful not to over-saturate.
