Description
This is a fantastic species with a widespread distribution in Belize to Central America and parts pf South America.. This free flowering species has a very aromatic fragrance at night and is easy to grow. Perhaps one of the best orchids to try if you want to venture out to something new as they seem to grow and flower even easier than the typical Phalaenopsis given good light.
Although we offer these plants in pots with bark, they are an excellent slab grower as well and often referred as to go to orchid for a first time slab grower. Many areas with ideal weather (such as Southern Florida) allow these plants to be mounted outside on trees. These have larger longer lasting flowers than typical nodosa's or (2N) grandifloras. These first flower in white and green and then fade to a yellowish green to pure white. We often flower these 2-3 times per year and the wider leaves allow this species to grow and flower well in somewhat lower light than your typical round leafed nodosa. The plants we offer are mature with several growths.
