A cross we registered in 2001 between two of the worst-smelling Bulbophyllum! The result is a great 50/50 combination of genetics, showing small echinolabium-like flowers on becarrii-like clusters of blooms.
Like its parents, the flowers produce a carrion scent—an adaptation for fly pollination. Since Bulb. beccarii itself is nearly impossible to find in cultivation; this vigorous hybrid is the next best thing!
Best grown in New Zealand sphagnum moss in bulb pans or azalea pots. In warm, humid climates like South Florida, it can also be mounted on fibrous palm trunks.
We have various clones, but all of them are nearly identical in flower quality.
