Bulbophyllum echinolabium
A warm- to hot-growing Bulbophyllum native to Sulawesi and Borneo. The flowers of this species are large and striking, but be warned: the fragrance is among the most pungent in the entire genus. We would argue this may be the worst-smelling Bulbophyllum species in existence… even more intense than B. beccarii!
This species is a successive bloomer, and large, mature plants have been known to flower from the same stem for over a year. In addition, established plants can produce impressive flowers with a vertical spread of 12 inches or more. Growing this species on the warm to hot side will help speed up maturity. An excellent choice for growers in the southern U.S.
3" Pot Size — Blooming size expected by summer 2027 or 2028
5.5" Pot Size - Blooming Size Plants, see second to last photo for an example of what you would be receiving.
