Description
A rare and highly sought after Cattleya species native to Costa Rica and Panama. This species is also in the background of countless Cattleya hybrids, both classic and modern.
This group of tetraploid seedlings was made from a sib created of confirmed 4N parents. The flowers should have more substance and size than standard dowiana. Although they are said to be cool to warm tolorant, this species grows much better in warmer conditions. During the winter months, be sure to allow the roots to become bone dry between watering if your conditions are more on the intermediate temperature side to avoid root and pseudobulb rot.
