A rare and highly sought-after Cattleya species native to Costa Rica and Panama. Renowned for its beauty and sweet fragrance, this species has also played a significant role in the development of countless classic and modern Cattleya hybrids.
These 4N tetraploid plants are expected to produce larger flowers with heavier substance and improved overall presentation. While often described as adaptable to cool through warm conditions, this species grows best when provided with warm temperatures. They are slow and steady growers.
During the winter months, especially under intermediate conditions, allow the roots to dry between waterings to help prevent root and pseudobulb rot. Good air movement and a well-drained potting medium are also beneficial.
We expect this batch to reach blooming size in the summer of 2028 to 2029.
