Native to the Colombian departments of Risaralda, Antioquia, and Chocó, this warm-growing Cattleya species is highly prized for its spectacular lip, one of the traits that has made it a cornerstone in hybridizing. A must-have for serious collectors!
We recommend growing in well-drained plastic or unglazed clay pots with sphagnum moss; our plants are established in plastic pots. Allow the roots to dry slightly between waterings. During winter, keep them a bit drier, with daytime temperatures above 70°F and nights no lower than 60°F (an occasional dip to 55°F is acceptable).
Near blooming size, expected to flower in the summer of 2027.
