A beautiful orchid species from Brazil that thrives with plenty of air around its roots. Due to its sprawling growth habit, many collectors choose to grow it in wood baskets or mounted on slabs if they have good humidity. We’ve also had success cultivating it in sphagnum moss with unglazed clay pots, or in plastic pots with a coarse bark mix. Mature plants produce striking 4–5 inch highly fragrant blooms, with a glossy, lacquered sheen—truly a standout addition to any collection!
This species prefers warmth and good humidity for optimal growth. During the cooler months, allow the potting mix to dry between waterings and reduce feeding until growth resumes in spring.
We expect the 5" pot size plants to reach blooming size by the summer of 2026.
