Description
A species with a wide distribution in nature from East to Southeast Asia. Naive to Hainan China, Assam, Bangladesh, eastern Himalayas, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos and Vietnam. Lovely pink to purple flowers that have a nice sweet fragrance. Shorter lived at about 3 to 4 weeks total bloom time. In the wild they grow on the sides of trees, and the growths curve downwards. In pots, we support them with stakes to keep them straight up. Some will grow in baskets or pots without support, and let them grow over the sides of the pots as well.

These are relatively easy plants to grow, and can handle cool to hot temperature ranges. They are spring bloomers and flower on mature canes after they drop the foliage. After the blooms, you will notice new growths emerge from the base (usually before the flowering begins). They will repeat the cycle for the next season.
