Dendrobium Sofia Bloyer
(Spring Bird 'Kurashiki' x moniliforme 'Miyabi')
This compact and floriferous hybrid has over 50% Dendrobium moniliforme in its genetics. These seed-grown orchids produce flowers ranging from white to yellow to pink, depending on the individual plant. The flowers emit a sweet fragrance with a hint of verbena.
Plant height can also vary due to the taller Spring Bird in its background. We have seen mature plants range from approximately 8 to 20 inches tall. As pictured on the last photo, this plant also does very well when mounted kokedama style.
Very easy to grow! Sofia Bloyer can flower more than once per year and may be given a cool, dry rest during winter to encourage a heavier late-winter/early-spring bloom. However, this is not necessary, as the hybrid will grow and flower freely under standard orchid culture.
