Native to Belize, Honduras, and Mexico, this orchid grows to about 12 inches tall with paired leaves atop small pseudobulbs. It thrives in a fast-draining potting mix or mounted on cork, prefers medium light, and should be watered as it approaches dryness, except while in bloom. Flower spikes can reach 2 feet tall and produce 8–15 fragrant blooms in shades of yellow, green, mahogany, white, and purple with reddish striping. Flowers typically last 2–3 months. Provide a dry rest from December through April, watering only when the growing medium is completely dry.
Current plants are recent divisions from a plant we gave the clonal name 'Dr. Pepper' due to its fragrance being very reminiscent of the soda. These divisions may have some cosmetic dings, blemishes, or markings on the foliage from the division process, but all plants have been virus tested and are confirmed clean and healthy.
