Laelia purpurata var. schusteriana (4N)

These have been colchicine treated and are converted to tetraploids. These are beautiful large plants that are near flowering size. The photographs of the flowers are of the diploid form. One can only imagine what the 4N forms will look like with flowers 1/3rd again larger, with heavier substance and somewhat better shape.
